Snow Fairy withdraws from Japan Cup

Queen Elizabeth II Commemorative Cup (Grade 1) winner Snow Fairy, which had been nominated to run in the Japan Cup on Nov. 27, withdrew from the race on Monday, a day after the filly became the first foreign runner ever to achieve back-to-back Grade 1 wins in JRA flat racing.

Assistant trainer Robin Trevor of Snow Fairy said, "The Queen Elizabeth II Commemorative Cup yesterday was quite a tough race and she's quite tired today. We had aimed for the Japan Cup and made the nomination, but after taking into consideration the fatigue incurred in the Queen Elizabeth, we decided, unfortunately, to withdraw from Japan Cup. We are planning to aim next for the Hong Kong Vase (she won the Hong Kong Cup last year). At present, we plan to leave Japan on Nov. 23."
