62nd Running of the Yasuda Kinen (G1)
June 2, 2012 (Saturday)
<At Tokyo Racecourse>
Weather: Fine
Going: Standard (dirt course)
GLORIOUS DAYS (AUS, G5, brown)
- jogged 10 min. in exercise arena, jogged 1/4 lap and cantered 1-3/4 laps on dirt course
(exercised from 6:22 AM to 6:48 AM, ridden by Kin Yiu Yan)
"His work during the week has been nothing out of his normal routine, and he's followed the program the way you'd wished. We've just tried to duplicate what he does at home, and he seems to be the same and normal.
This horse is about the same grade and same rating as the other horses I've brought to the Yasuda Kinen in the past such as Sight Winner and Armada, and their health and fitness status is similar, so whether he can win or lose depends on the competition and how they run the race.
The outside draw (no.14) is probably some help to us, because he'll begin okay but he doesn't hold a forward position that well, so he'll probably get to midfield. He can get in front of the staying type horses, but since the pace horses will be too quick for him, the midfield position would be good for his last spurt."

LUCKY NINE (IRE, G5, bay)
- jogged 1/4 lap, cantered 2 laps, on dirt course
(exercised from 6:21 AM to 6:35 AM, ridden by Dale Bussey)
"I'm very happy with him today. He's in good form. He's really switched on from yesterday's gallop and he's enjoyed his exercise this morning.
Tomorrow he'll do some exercise for sure, probably something similar to today."
