Mirco Demuro receives short-term JRA Jockey's License

The Japan Racing Association (JRA) announced that a short-term riding jockey's license has been issued to Italian jockey, Mirco Demuro.

This short-term riding license is effective from November 29 to December 28, 2008.

Demuro, 29, will be primarily riding for owner, Chizu Yoshida, and his host trainer, Ryuji Okubo, of JRA Ritto Training Center.

Demuro has been riding in Japan every year since 1999. He won the Satsuki Sho (Japanese 2000 Guineas) and Tokyo Yushun (Japanese Derby) aboard Neo Universe in 2003, becoming the first foreign jockey to win the Japanese Derby. In 2004, Demuro took the Satsuki Sho for the second straight year aboard Daiwa Major.
