JRA thanks the Malaysia Horse Racing for donating RM 1 million to Japanese Red Cross Society
The three Malaysian Turf Clubs (Penang Turf Club, Perak Turf Club and Selangor Turf Club), Lembaga Totalisator Malaysia and Pan Malaysian Pools Sdn Bhd have jointly raised RM 1 million (JPY 27,539,246) for the victims of Great East Japan Earthquake. The donation was passed to the Japanese Red Cross Society through BAKTI, welfare and charitable association in Malaysia.
Selangor Turf Club Chairman and Malaysia Horse Racing Japan Earthquake/Tsunami Disaster Fund Chairman Datuk Richard Cham said, "Malaysia Horse Racing is well-known for their spontaneous generosity and it is no different this time when Japan was hit by a 9.0 magnitude earthquake/tsunami. This is part of our Corporate Social Responsibility and we hope the donation will help in this hour of need."
