Ryo Terashima (assistant trainer)
"He can clear high jumps so he has no problem around the course. It's to his advantage that the ground changes to turf in the stretch. He has good stamina and the distance suits him. He should be an interesting presence in the race."

Ryuji Okubo (trainer)
"He's come along to plan since last race. He has a lot of stamina and the conditions for the race suit him. The turf in the stretch is good."

Mitsuaki Hayashi
"He's in good condition. He has stamina so he'll be able to stay the course. When he gets surrounded by other horses he can become quite timid. If he can get a smooth journey, we'll be in good shape."

Makoto Ito (assistant trainer)
"We gave him some time off after the quake and because racing was canceled at Nakayama, then came back with an eye on the Grand Jump. He arrived back at Miho on the 16th and he didn't have the tone he needed, but now I think we can have good expectations. He's gained in experience and skill jumping and I think it can be taken for granted that we can expect him to do well."

Yasuo Sugawara (trainer)
"We gave him an outing after quite some time off and his wind is good. He'll have no problem with any of the obstacles."

Kiyotaka Nishida (assistant trainer)
"When the Nakayama Grand Jump scheduled for April 16 was postponed because of the Eastern Japan Earthquake we put him out to pasture for a while. When he came back to trainer in mid-May he was a bit heavy so we were a bit behind schedule with his final preparation. We weren't able to give him a flat race before the jump race as we usually do so I don't know what kind of effect that will have. But he's very experienced and right for the course and distance so I think we can at least have expectations."

Mitsumasa Nakauchida (assistant trainer)
"Last time out he broke late and after that a fall got in his way. From there, he lost his rhythm and he wasn't able to perform to his potential. We've been eyeing this race, he's in good shape and I think he'll be able to give us some results."

Yuta Komiyama (assistant trainer)
"He broke late last time and that hurt. We've been doing some gate practice and he's in good shape for him."

Hiroshi Sakuma (jockey)
"This race has been the goal since from right after his last outing. His condition is stable. There's no problem with either the course or the distance. The key will be finding a good rhythm during the trip. The position doesn't matter."

Yoshihiro Takahashi (trainer)
"Everything has gone well since his last race. He's a small horse and it's first time at the distance. The 63.5 kg he'll be carrying is key."
