“The condition of both horses (Broome and Japan) continue to be well enough that we were able to give them two laps of canter this morning. The grooms were also satisfied with today’s training. They are both eating well since they’ve arrived, are happy and well – everything has gone well so far. We can send them off to the Japan Cup with confidence.”

Grand Glory (GB, M5, Bay)

- after exercising in trot ring, trotted right-handed 1,800m, walked 800m on dirt course
(exercised from 6:30 to 7:00)

“She seems to have adjusted to the new environment here in Japan, but I can catch a glimpse of her sensing the difference in the environment. ”Condition-wise, she is eating well and is showing no fatigue from the trip. We gave her some hard training yesterday, so today I just trotted her just to stretch out her legs. I hope she can give it her best and finish near the top in the Japan Cup.”

<At Tokyo Racecourse>

Broome (IRE, H5, Bay)

Japan (GB, H5, Bay)

“The transportation from the quarantine stables went well. Though there was a lot of traffic, the driver was very steady, and they’ve traveled great. They’ve settled in here, are eating well and we’re very happy with them. Their weight is good, they’ve improved well, and they are in good condition. Tomorrow they will trot anti-clockwise and do two canters from the sixth and the seventh on the dirt.”

Grand Glory (GB, M5, Bay)

“Regarding the transportation today from the quarantine stables, the mare looked a bit puzzled in the lorry at first, but soon got settled and all went smoothly after that. She will do some light work on the dirt course tomorrow and more or less the same until the race.”
