“Since we wanted to tone up her muscles, we jogged a bit longer this morning. We’re hoping to gradually increase her work in strength and get her fit for the race. She seems to be more relaxed than yesterday. Tomorrow, she will canter and do the same menu as she does back home on the dirt course.”

“We had our colt do the same kind of work as yesterday but after warming him up with a jog, we added some canters. He’s looking better both physically and mentally than yesterday and is in good condition. The menu of his work tomorrow will depend on our trainer but it’ll be on the dirt course.”

Tunnes (GER, C3, chestnut)

- walked 3 laps, jogged 7 laps, walked 2 laps, lightly cantered 4 laps, jogged 1 lap, all right-handed (on 300m dirt exercise track around the new international stable)

“The climate here is similar to that of Germany so our colt has settled in nicely. He did everything we asked him to do this morning and has come out of the training in very good condition. Whether he will go out or not on the dirt course tomorrow will be decided by our trainer but if he doesn’t, he’ll still work in the exercise track.”
