Training Report of Foreign Entries
Japan Autumn International
The 43rd Japan Cup (G1)

November 25, 2023 (Saturday)

<At Tokyo Racecourse>

Weather: Fine
Going: Standard (dirt course)

Iresine (FR, G6, dark bay)

- jogged 4 laps, cantered 3 laps left-handed (exercise dirt track around the international stables)
- strong canter 1 lap left-handed (dirt course)
(exercised from 7:04 to 7:23, ridden by Alexis Larue)

“As yesterday, he warmed up on the exercise track before cantering on the dirt course. Yesterday, he showed some soreness in his right foreleg, but was properly treated and was able to do his usual training this morning. I think he’s fit and tuned up well for the race.
My impression of the turf is that it’s well-drained so should there be any rain fall, it won’t get that soggy and, even if it’s a fast track, it’s still a safe footing for the horses—all in all, I think it’s a great track.
Regarding race tactics, since we will probably see Iresine well off the pace as usual, I hope the pace has good speed and that he doesn’t lose much ground turning into the straight.
Tomorrow morning, he’ll just stay on the exercise track and not go out on the dirt course.”
