Training Report of Foreign Entries
Japan Autumn International
The 44th Japan Cup (G1)

November 15, 2024 (Friday)

<At Tokyo Racecourse>

The following horses entered in the 44th Japan Cup arrived in Japan and were transported straight to Tokyo Racecourse, reaching the international stables yesterday. Comments from the connections and exercise conducted this morning are as follows.

Auguste Rodin (IRE)

Arrival time at Tokyo Racecourse: 20:15 (Nov.14)
- hand-walked about 20 min. (the international stables area)
- jogged 3 laps, walked 2 laps, cantered 3 laps left-handed on the dirt exercise track around the international stables
(exercised from 7:23 to 8:01, ridden by Rachel Richardson)

“It was a long trip—it took us about 27.5 hours to get here but everything is fine. The horse is eating and drinking well.
This morning, we took him out on the course and he did some light work, just to stretch his legs. Tomorrow he’ll do more or less the same kind of work or maybe canter a little more.
We plan to gallop him on the grass on Wednesday. The jockey will not be riding him.”

Fantastic Moon (GER)

Arrival time at Tokyo Racecourse: 21:35 (Nov.14)
- hand-walked about 20 min. (the international stables area)
- jogged 6 laps, cantered 3 laps left-handed on the dirt exercise track around the international stables
(exercised from 7:09 to 7:40, ridden by Sarah Steinberg)

“The horse traveled from Munich to Japan and he was relaxed during the flight.
He’s a bit tired but looks well.
I only had him do some light work this morning, but he’s focused and I’m very happy with him.
We have tuned him up in back home so I don’t plan on doing any strong work here before the race. He will do his usual training up until the race.
I might ask him to do a stronger canter tomorrow morning on the 300-meter course.”

Goliath (GER)
Le Nomade (IRE) (entered in the Capital Stakes)

Arrival time at Tokyo Racecourse: 21:35 (Nov.14)
- hand-walked about 45 min. (the international stables area)

“The transportation went well—the horses took a flight from Le Bourget via Frankfurt to Narita and completed the transportation in good condition. They are eating well and drinking well.
We hand-walked them this morning for about 45 minutes and despite of a little jet lag, they are doing well.
Tomorrow we’ll take them out on the 300-meter course and have them do a slow canter after being hand-walked.
The trainer will arrive on Tuesday so Goliath will probably do some fast work on Wednesday.”
