November 18, 2024 (Monday)
<At Tokyo Racecourse>
Weather: Rainy
Going: Standard (dirt course)
- walked 1 lap, jogged 3 laps left-handed on the dirt exercise track around the international stables, jogged 1/2 lap, cantered 3/4 lap left-handed, gate test, jogged 1/4 lap right-handed on the dirt course
(exercised from 6:37 to 7:08, ridden by Rachel Richardson)
“Everything went well this morning, the horse is in good form and I’m very happy with him. His rider said he behaved well in the gates and handled the test well.
He’s an easy-going horse, intelligent and alert horse. He’s also a good traveler and takes it all in so he’s adapted well.
Tomorrow he’ll do a stronger canter for a mile on the dirt and on Wednesday, when the trainer is here, he’ll go and do a canter on the grass. Besides that, he’ll work on the dirt course.”

- jogged 6 laps, walked 2 laps left-handed on the dirt exercise track around the international stables, cantered 1-1/4 laps left-handed, grate test, walked 1/4 lap right-handed on dirt course
(exercised from 7:04 to 7:36, ridden by Sarah Steinberg)
“The horse is in good form and his gate test went very smoothly this morning.
The speed and tempo of his training is the same as we do at home in Germany. He’s mentally strong, loves to work and behaves well so he doesn’t give me any problems when traveling abroad.
Tomorrow he’ll do the same kind of work and if he’s up to it, I might ask him to do a stronger canter in the last 400 meters.”

- cantered 1-1/4 laps left-handed, gate test, walked 1/4 lap right-handed on the dirt course
(exercised from 7:06 to 7:22, Goliath ridden by Dylan Lepere, Le Nomade by Anthony David)
“The condition of the horse is very good, he is in the state of recovering from the long trip but doesn’t show any fatigue and has adapted to the climate.
His gate test went smoothly this morning and we’re happy.
Le Nomade has a warm and loving nature. He’s well-experienced and is physically very strong so I’m sure he will adapt to the fast pace and run well in the race here in Japan.
The jockey, Christophe Soumillon, will ride Goliath on Wednesday on the turf course. Le Nomade will do the same work as well.”
