Kazuya Nakatake, trainer
“He was a bit thin in the spring, but had gained weight before his last race and ran well that day. His movement has been good in his recent training and he’s progressed well since his last race. He’s a horse with speed, and I look forward to him running his best race here.”
Koichi Shirakura, assistant trainer
“He is stronger for having his last race, and over 1,600 meters I think he can run well. Hopefully he’ll start well and get to use his speed in the best way he can during the race.” |

Hiroyuki Oneda, trainer
“He is very well in himself and has been moving well, showing that he’s in good condition. The race is 1,600 meters this time, but he’s the type that can adjust to this. Even though the opposition is strong, I want him to run to his best, where he can save things for a good late run and hopefully get a result which will prove his capability.” |

Egremni
Tadashi Kayo, trainer
“He has trained well and he is in good shape, as well as growing bigger. Last time when he raced, he showed what ability he has. On his dam’s side, the distance might not suit, but being by Kizuna the trip shouldn’t be a problem. He is a horse that gets into his races well and I hope that’ll be the case this time as well.” |
|
Gran Rey
Manabu Ikezoe, trainer
“He is not so tense now and has trained satisfactorily with his race jockey, so I’m happy with his condition. We changed his bit last time and he ran a strong race to win in a fair time. I think he’ll be fine in the run this time too and be able to adjust to the distance. He’s suited by good ground, and given this I don’t think there’ll be too much in it between him and the other runners.” |
|
Jun Light Bolt
Yasuo Tomomichi, trainer
“He came out of his last race well and there’s no change with him. His condition is good and he has worked well in training, posting good times. His tendency to hang isn’t an issue now and the jockey said racing right-handed shouldn’t be a problem. I think he can act on any ground, and with just the one turn in the race on the outside course, he should respond well. I think he can run competitively among this field.” |

Takashi Saito, trainer
“He has been a little unruly in the gate previously, so he has had practice with this and getting a good start, and he does seem more relaxed now. In the race last time, the ground was heavy, but the jockey thought the longer trip this time wouldn’t be a problem. The jockey knows the horse well, so he’s in a position to judge. The horse generally gives everything he’s got, and having raced at Hanshin before, I’m looking forward to what he can do here.” |

Toshiyuki Takashima, assistant trainer
“Since his last race, he has been in the pool and on the training track, and adjusted well as he heads into this next race. He looks well in his coat and his breathing is good. He will transport over on the day, so hopefully he’ll be calm. We won’t know about the speed in the race until it happens, but with the condition he’s in, hopefully he’ll run to his best ability and get a better result than last time.” |
|
Meisho Titan
Masaru Honda, trainer
“He is fine after his last race and we’ve taken care with him. He is still developing well and his condition is good. Over a mile he’s fine, even if two starts ago he couldn’t keep things up to the finish, but I put this down to him coming back from a spell. I want to see him use his natural speed to produce a good result this time.”
Kohei Matsuyama, jockey
“He is still young and inexperienced, but his responses are good. The Hanshin track is currently riding fast, so one of the keys will be to see how he can handle this.” |

Pale Ale
Takayuki Yasuda, trainer
“He has shown his strength since his debut, and he has been able to get results at different tracks as well. He doesn’t pull and I’m thinking the mile should be the best for him, particularly at Hanshin with the rise. He should go into the race weighing around 490kg, which will be fine. I’m not worried about the draw. I just want him to find that little bit extra at the end of the race, something that would produce his best finish. I hope the jockey can pull it off.” |
|
Prince Return
Tadashi Kayo, trainer
“His times have been good in training and the jockey has done a good job with him. We don’t know about the mile until we try, but his way of racing should suit. The jockey knows how to get the best out of him.”
Kazuma Harada, jockey
“Since his last race, he has felt strong in training and he knows how to take on other horses. I’m looking forward to what he can do in the race this time.” |

Red Bel Jour
Hideaki Fujiwara, trainer
“The horse is developing well and has gained weight. He has moved well in recent training. He is better for his last race and the longer distances should suit him. I hope he can just get into stride a bit quicker when it matters this time.”
Nobuyuki Tashiro, assistant trainer
“He won a Grade 2 last time in his first race in a while, so there is no doubting his ability. I think he will improve more, showing what potential he has. He has experience at the track and handling the rise, and even in this Grade 1, he must have a chance.”
Christophe Soumillon, jockey
“I have a good image of the horse and rode him to the plan in training. That all went well. He is already a graded race winner and he’s not a difficult horse to ride. He is more like a 3-year-old than a 2-year-old. If all goes well, he has a good chance.” |

Salios
Salios
Kazutomo Mori, assistant trainer
“His debut was earlier in the year, so rotation-wise it’s been good. If you look at what he’s done so far in his career, a Grade 1 would certainly be within his grasp. Two weeks ago, he did his hard training, so this last week he’s just done enough to keep him ticking over, and his movement and time have both been good. He does have to transport over to Hanshin, handle the right-handed track, and also run in a race with a lot of runners, but I think he is a good enough horse to take in all of these things. He seems very talented for a 2-year-old.” |
|
Tagano Beauty
Masato Nishizono, trainer
“It will be his first time to race on turf, but his older brother could finish second in a Grade 1 on turf, so on breeding I don’t see any problems. The mile looks fine for him, and all being well, we can look to the future with him if he puts in a good run here. I’d like to see him handle the early part of the race well, as this will be one of the keys to him running well.”
Ryuji Wada, jockey
“He is an easy horse to ride and has a nice, big stride in his action. He also has speed, and hopefully things will go right and he can use his power in the homestraight.” |

Taisei Vision
Masayuki Nishimura, trainer
“Getting into the flow of the race will be important. Last time he adjusted well to how the race was run, and his strong late burst made it a good race for him. I think the mile will be fine for him.”
Shunei Kikumoto, assistant trainer
“The jockey rode him in fast work last week which was sufficient. His condition is good, and to look at him and the way he runs, he looks like a miler at this stage. It’ll be a strong race, but I think he has the ability to do well. Finding his rhythm will be important.”
Yutaka Take, jockey
“He ran well last time, and my image of him is settling well in a race and then producing his turn of foot at the finish. He can pull a little, so getting him relaxed in the run will be one of the keys. Also the distance and the outer course are things to consider. There aren’t many Grade 1 races for 2-year-olds, and there are a lot of good horses in the race, but he’s certainly one of them and has a chance. I’m also looking to win the race for the first time myself.” |

Triple Ace
Triple Ace
Takashi Saito, trainer
“The jockey has got a feel for the horse in training, and in his work the horse has done everything well, showing good reactions and footwork. He is relaxed, but at the same time a lot tighter. He got a good start and a good position in his last race, which was his first time at a mile. From that race we can look positively to this one. He ran at Hanshin on his debut and I think the wide track is good for him, so hopefully he will find his rhythm and be able to produce his closing speed at the finish.” |

Takafumi Aoki, trainer
“He has run well in training and his condition will be good going into the race. He has come on well for his last race and didn’t lose any weight after it, so with the transportation to the track all should be fine. He can do well in this Grade 1 with the way things have gone and the condition he is in.”
Masami Matsuoka, jockey
“I was pleased with his time of around 70 seconds in training as he worked with a fast horse in his last piece of work. There’s a good feel to him as he heads to the race, and he is a lot better than he was in the summer.” |
