November 23, 2016 (Wednesday)

<At Tokyo Racecourse>

Weather: Cloudy
Going: Good (dirt course)

Erupt (IRE, C4, by bay)

- jogged 1/4 lap, cantered lightly 1 lap, walked 1/4 lap, fast canter 3/4 lap (dirt course)
(exercised from 7:33 to 7:55, ridden by Aurelien Bellei)

“He did his normal work this morning and we’re happy with him. Since it’s his second time here, he’s four years old now and is a good traveler, he’s in better form than last year with all the experience.
Pierre-Charles Boudot, who is champion jockey in Europe and rode the colt to win his debut start, will be in the saddle this time so we’re looking forward to the race.
Tomorrow he’ll go on the grass but if it snows, we’ll take him out on the dirt instead.”

Iquitos (GER, C4, bay)

- jogged 1 lap, cantered 1 lap (dirt course)
(exercised from 7:33 to 7:50, ridden by Simone Harnischmacher)

“His training was the same as usual this morning, nothing fast, just to let him get accustomed to the racecourse and the new atmosphere.
He has adjusted much better that we expected and he looks very happy.
I’ll have to talk with our trainer, who is arriving today, about what we’ll do with him tomorrow morning since it’ll probably depend on the weather.”

Nightflower (IRE, F4, chestnut)

- jogged 1 lap, cantered 1 lap (dirt course)
(exercised from 7:33 to 7:50, ridden by Patrick Gibson)

“It’s her second time here and it seems as if she knows where she is. Her condition is better now than when she was in Germany.
I wanted her to do a slower canter this morning but she’s the type that’s keen to go from the beginning so I let her, and tried to hold her speed a little in the latter half of the workout.
Our trainer is scheduled to arrive today but I think her training menu for tomorrow and Friday will be more or less the same as today.”
