The Japan Racing Association (JRA) announced that short-term riding jockey's licenses will been issued to two foreign jockeys.
French jockey Vincent Cheminaud will receive his riding license, effective from January 5 to 29, 2017. He will be primarily riding for owner, Katsumi Yoshida and host trainer, Yasutoshi Ikee from JRA Ritto Training Center.
Meanwhile, Shane Foley of Ireland will receive a short-term riding license effective from January 5 to February 26, 2017. He will be primarily riding for host trainer, Yasuo Tomomichi, from the JRA Ritto Training Center, and owner, Kazumi Yoshida.
Cheminaud, 23, rode in JRA races for the first time last December under a short-term riding license, recording four wins from 72 rides. Foley, 28, received his JRA short-term license last year during the same period and marked 10 wins - including the Grade 3 Keisei Hai aboard Prophet - from 123 races.
