Race dates changed for Fukushima and Niigata Racemeetings; Park WINS Fukushima open from April 2
Inspection and repairs on the facilities and equipment at Fukushima Racecourse are under way, after damage incurred in the March 16 (Wed.) earthquake centered off the coast of Fukushima.
Because of the size of the area requiring safety inspections, the dates of the Fukushima racemeeting will be changed and racing will be held without spectators.
Due to the change in the Fukushima schedule, the dates for Niigata racemeeting will also be changed as follows.
Fukushima Racemeeting (Note: No spectators allowed)
[Original dates] April 9, 10, 16, 17, 23, and 24
[New dates] April 16, 17, 23, 24 and 30; May 1
[Original dates] April 30; May 1, 7, 8, 14, 15, 21 and 22
[New dates] May 7, 8, 14, 15, 21, 22, 28 and 29
The first day of the Fukushima racemeeting will be changed to April 16 (Sat.).
The dates and venues for both the Fukushima Himba Stakes (G3, Apr. 23) and the Niigata Daishoten (G3, May 8) will remain the same.
Any changes in the racing program will be announced when decided.
Please note that there will be NO betting tickets sold at Park WINS Fukushima Racecourse on March 26 (Sat.) and March 27 (Sun.). Payouts for winning betting tickets will be available only on the first floor of the multi-storey parking garage, normally reserved for weekdays. This area will be closed on March 28 (Mon.). From April 2 (Sat.), the sale of betting tickets will resume, but in a restricted area. No race video coverage will be provided.
