COVID-19 News Update: Racing at Nakayama to be held without spectators; Betting Ticket sales suspended at Tokyo area WINS on Jan. 9, 10 and 11

Taking into account the current coronavirus infection rate in the Tokyo metropolitan area, the JRA has decided that racing at Nakayama Racecourse on Jan. 9 (Sat.), Jan. 10 (Sun.) and Jan. 11 (Mon., Nat’l holiday) will be held without spectators. In addition, there will be no betting ticket sales at the below Park WINS, WINS, Light WINS, EXCEL, and J-PLACE betting facilities.

We sincerely apologize for the changes from previously announced information and the inconvenience caused to customers who have already purchased reserved seat tickets and who had planned to purchase betting tickets at WINS and other outlets. Customers who have already purchased reserved seat tickets, please be sure to see the JRA Web site for information on “Reserved seat refunds."

We will continue to provide updates on the latest measures for racing from Jan. 16 (Sat.).

Also, please be aware that the above is subject to change in light of the developing situation.

Racecourses

Nakayama Racecourse: The public will not be permitted to enter the racecourse. Races will be held without spectators.

WINS and other betting facilities:
There will be no sales of betting tickets at the following WINS and other betting facilities.

Park WINS: Tokyo Racecourse
WINS: Ginza, Korakuen, Kinshicho, Asakusa, Shiodome, Shinjuku, Shibuya, Tachikawa, Kawasaki, Yokohama, Shin-Yokohama, Urawa
Light WINS: Ami
EXCEL: Tanashi, Isezaki
J-PLACE: Oi, Funabashi, Narita, Kisarazu

Note: Only payouts from past races will be available from 10 a.m. to 4 p.m. on Jan. 9 through Jan. 11 at the above racecourses, WINS and other betting facilities (excluding those at Kawasaki, Urawa, Tanashi, Isezaki, Oi). Payout windows will be closed on Jan. 12 (Tues.).

No changes have been made at Chukyo Racecourse, where limited admission to the racecourse will still be available for those customers who have purchased reserved seat tickets in advance. Also, all betting facilities other than those mentioned above will continue their usual operations.
