Ryan Moore, Andrasch Starke receive short-term JRA Jockey's License
The Japan Racing Association (JRA) announced that short-term riding jockey's licenses will been issued to two foreign jockeys.
British jockey Ryan Moore will receive his riding license, effective from October 29 to December 5, 2016. He will be primarily riding for owner, Kazuko Yoshida and host trainer, Noriyuki Hori from JRA Miho Training Center.
Meanwhile, Andrasch Starke of Germany will receive a short-term riding license effective from October 29 to December 25, 2016. He will be primarily riding for host trainer, Yasuo Tomomichi, from the JRA Ritto Training Center, and owner, Kazumi Yoshida.
Moore has an overall record of 77 wins (including nine graded races) from 416 rides in JRA races. Moore, who led Maurice to victory in the Grade 1 Mile Championship last November, is scheduled to be partnered with Maurice again in the Grade 1 Tenno Sho (Autumn) on Sunday, Oct. 30.
Starke, who also rode in Japan under a short-term jockey’s license earlier this year, has a total record of 41 wins (including three graded races) from 463 rides in JRA races. He is schedule to ride on Satono Noblesse in the Tenno Sho (Autumn).
