November 26, 2016 (Saturday)

<At Tokyo Racecourse>

Weather: Fine
Going: Firm (turf course), Muddy (dirt course)

Erupt (IRE, C4, by bay)

- jogged approx. 500m, cantered lightly 1,900m (turf course)
(exercised from 7:12 to 7:25, ridden by Aurelien Bellei)

“Since we weren’t able to test the grass yesterday nor the day before that, we took him out on the turf course this morning and I found that the grass was thicker and looked better, with more cushion, than last year.
The rain wouldn’t affect his performance but I wouldn’t want any rain for the public.
Tomorrow, he will do a light jog and canter just to get him warmed up.”

Iquitos (GER, C4, bay)

- hand-walked around stable area

“As we do back home, we just hand-walked him today since it’s the day before the race. He’s in very good condition, he’s relaxed and everything is in order for the race tomorrow.
We will just hand-walk him tomorrow morning as well.”

Nightflower (IRE, F4, chestnut)

- jogged approx. 1,900m, cantered 1,400m, walked 500m (dirt course)
(exercised from 7:00 to 7:13, ridden by Patrick Gibson)

“We wanted her to do a slow canter but she wanted to go faster so the pace was a little stronger than we hoped. She’s in very good form and the horse is fully aware that she’s headed for a race.
I understand that it might rain tomorrow, but I hope it doesn’t affect the turf condition.
She will be hand-walked around the stables tomorrow morning.”
