COVID-19 News Update: NOTICE regarding JRA racing from Saturday, Aug. 15 through Sunday, Sept. 6

Note: Niigata Racecourse will continue to be closed to the public (from 15th Aug. to 6th Sept.). We are sorry for any inconveniences and thank you for your cooperation. (Updated on 8th Aug.)

In measures to counter the spread of coronavirus, the Japan Racing Association, has conducted “JRA racing behind closed doors,” in which the general public has been barred from entering the racecourses.

The following will be in effect for JRA racing from Saturday, Aug. 15 through Sunday, Sept. 6.

Niigata Racecourse will continue to be closed to the public (from 15th Aug. to 6th Sept.)
Race Meeting in Niigata Racecourse from 15th Aug. to 6th Sept. -- Admission to the racecourse will resume. However, only Niigata Prefecture residents holding advance reserved-seating tickets will be permitted into the racecourse.
Note:
Reserved-seat tickets are necessary in order to enter the racecourse.
Reserved-seat tickets will be available for Niigata Prefecture residents only (limited to approx. 600 persons per day) and may be purchased (by lottery) on the Reserved Seating Webpage.
Please see the Reserved Seating Webpage for details regarding the sale of reserved-seat tickets (available to Niigata Prefecture residents only).

Kokura Racecourse will continue to be closed to the public (from 15th Aug. to 6th Sept.).

Sapporo Racecourse will continue to be closed to the public (from 15th Aug. to 6th Sept.).

The Japan Racing Association will announce further notice concerning race meetings and the reopening of PARK WINS, WINS, EXCEL and J-PLACE off-track betting facilities from Saturday, Sept. 12. in the near future.
