Course Description
The Sprinters Stakes starts on the backstretch at Nakayama from a downhill of 200 meters to the first turn, which curves to the right for 400 meters before leading into a sharp final bend for the 310-meter straight - notorious to runners for the steep rise over the last 200 meters. While Nakayama generally tends to favor those who draw inside, the Sprinters Stakes has proven to be a level playing field with horses from the No. 1 post to No. 16 having finished inside the top three during the last decade.
