Training Report of Foreign Entries
The 67th Running of the Yasuda Kinen (G1)

May 29, 2017 (Monday)

The following horses entered in the 67th Yasuda Kinen were transported to the Tokyo Racecourse, leaving the Horse Racing School quarantine facilities in Shiroi at 11:10 and arriving at the international stables at 13:06. Comments taken from the connections upon arrival are as follows:

Beauty Only (IRE, G6, Bay)

“The trip from Shiroi to Tokyo Racecourse went smoothly. He's a rather sensitive type of horse—that's why we have a hood on him. But he settled well on his second day at Shiroi and I'm sure he'll be fine too once he's settled here. We've had two small gallops since arriving in Japan and plan for another one on Thursday on the turf. Tomorrow we'll take it quietly and let him get used to his new surroundings.

Our trainer Anthony Cruz is scheduled to come to the racecourse on Thursday and Zachary Purton will not ride the horse until the race.”

Contentment (AUS, G7, Chestnut)

“He's really benefitted from his last trip here and has gotten along well. He was 1126 lb (510 kg) this morning and very much near his best which is around 1140 lb (516 kg).

Joao Moreira will be riding him for the first time in over a year or two but he's a good rider and sure to give him a good ride. I haven't been told whether he will ride the horse before the race or not.

Tomorrow will be an easy day and we plan to gallop him on the turf on Thursday. Mr. Size is coming over here tomorrow afternoon.”
