Kazuya Makita (trainer)
“She took it easy today because she worked hard last week. She’s filling out and we have no reason to be concerned.”

Daily Hai Queen Cup (G3)

Yoshitomi Shibata
“She was smooth, seemed to be at ease out there. Her stride, the acceleration, it was all there. She had her moment (in the Oka Sho), reminding me once again just how talented she is. She’s in better shape than her last start. I just hope the race flows.”

Yoshitaka Ninomiya (trainer)
“Tokyo is her course. She can handle a long distance without problem.”

Christophe Lemaire
“Today was just to get a feel for her because she put in her fast work last week. She’s in very good condition. She should be fine regarding the distance as well as running counterclockwise.”

Kenichi Ikezoe
“It’s not like her time was out of this world, but she was brilliant the last 200 meters. She’s improved by a lot. I want this title here.”

Takanori Kikuzawa (trainer)
“Everything’s been perfect. I can’t say one bad thing about her at the moment; she’s that steady. She’s solid physically, and she’s turned out just like I had imagined.”

Yoshito Yahagi (trainer)
“Her time was a little faster than I wanted but she wasn’t being forced so it should be OK. Physically, she’s borderline. She’ll definitely be lighter than she was the last time out.”

Tomohito Ozeki (trainer)
“The response from her was very good. She’s getting her action back. She felt great last week and we’ve managed to keep her that way. We’re going into this as challengers.”

Rena Nishihara (assistant trainer)
"We didn't want her to get upset during the workout. She took the bit at the start, but she held on after that. She's even in slightly better form than she was for the Oka Sho."

Jun Sato (assistant trainer)
“She worked fast for the second straight week, and we really are able to push her. According to the jockey, she accelerated very well.”

Shigeki Matsumoto (trainer)
“Her overall time was slow but it wasn’t a bad workout. She’s at 456 kg now and as long as she stays above 446 kg she should be fine. The extra distance should be good.”

Mikki Queen

Yasutoshi Ikee (trainer)
“She’s pretty close to being perfect. If she weighs around the same as she did in the (Daily Hai) Queen Cup, she’ll be fine. She just needs to get off to a good start and travel somewhere in midfield.”

Fairy Stakes (G3)

Hiroto Mayuzumi
“She worked at a good pace. She doesn’t get overexcited. I’m not that caught up about being on the lead, but I want to ride an aggressive race.”

Eiji Nakano (trainer)
“She always trains well so she’s able to sustain her form. If she can run a clean race, she could make things interesting.”

Inao Okada (trainer)
“Her condition’s not all that different from the last race but she’s steady. Not sure about the distance. If she can settle she should last to the end.”

Keiji Yoshimura (trainer)
“She’s sharp. We could’ve switched her on any time if we wanted to. It’s all going according to schedule. We thought we had her in pretty good condition for the Oka Sho but finished fourth. We want to redeem ourselves in the Oaks.”

Kisaragi Sho (NHK Sho) (G3)

Masahiro Otake (trainer)
“I think there are number of reasons for the loss – including the buildup she had – but she didn’t seem any different than usual. But she was boxed in while the other horses made their way on the outside. You can’t deny that she was at a disadvantage during the trip. I’m sure it’s the same with everyone else, but she recovered quickly because the pace was so slow and didn’t take much out of her. The 2,400 meters isn’t your usual distance but she’s experienced the 2,000 meters at Tokyo – and won it – which we think gives us an edge here. I know we disappointed our fans in the Oka Sho but I hope we can prove she’s much better than that; we’re looking for a clean race and get the result we deserve.”

Yasuo Tomomichi (trainer)
“Everything’s going as planned. I’ve been told her legs have gotten stronger, her footwork better. She’s eating well so she recovers quickly. Hopefully she can move out in front early and somehow hold on.”

Teruo Eda
“She had a strong finish in the workout and looks light on her feet. She seems to be in pretty good shape to me. She’s a good traveler and isn’t at all difficult to ride.”

Yutaka Yoshida
“She stayed under control but she was having a hard time keeping her concentration. But it wasn’t the race itself and I tried to make sure she didn’t spend too much energy.”
