Training Report of Foreign Entry
the 52nd Running of the Sprinters Stakes (G1)

September 28, 2018 (Friday)

<At Nakayama Racecourse>

Weather: Fine
Going: Good (dirt course)

Lucky Bubbles (AUS, G7, chestnut)

- (left-handed) cantered 1-1/4 laps, (right-handed) walked 1/4 lap on dirt course
(exercised from 7:47 AM to 7:55 AM, ridden by Cheuk Wah Lo)

“I’m happy with the horse’s form, he looks okay. I was told that on the first day of training here, they worked left-handed because he looked around, but Brett (Prebble) told me that he moved fine right-handed on the grass yesterday. I just let him work left-handed this morning to keep him happy.

“The JRA staff invited this horse two years ago to race in the Sprinters Stakes, but he was still young, and with the major races in Hong Kong that would follow, I worried at that time whether the horse would travel well back and forth and be able to handle it. But now, the Hong Kong sprinters are very strong, and I feel it is the right time to challenge a new stage.

“I would prefer an inside draw because normally in a sprint race you could save ground and sit in a good position. He will do the same kind of light work tomorrow as he did today.”
