Admire Zoom
Admire Zoom (colt)
Yasuo Tomomichi, trainer
“His reactions have been good in training, and there has been nothing to worry about with him. He’s moving well, and he’s come on for his last race, when he didn’t run badly. There’s no problem when he changes leads, and even though this will be his first time racing left-handed, it should be fine for him. The jockey (Yuga Kawada) has ridden him this last week, and the horse is really switched on. He can get just a little tense before a race, but he’s smart enough, and can run well from the start right up to the finish of a race, so I’m hoping for a good run here.” |

Arte Veloce
Arte Veloce (colt)
Naosuke Sugai, trainer
“He’s been at the stable, and things have been as expected with him, with no change at all. He’ll be back at Tokyo, where he ran a very strong race over a mile in the Saudi Arabia Royal Cup. He raced just a little too wide in his last race. Even with rain, I wouldn’t worry about him. His heart and lungs are strong. His last piece of work was good, and he’s relaxed. I hope he’ll run well this time, and I think he has a chance to win a Grade 1 race.” |

Caught Alliciant

Daishi Ito, trainer
“She’s worked well on the uphill training track, and her last piece of work has been on the woodchip course, where she ran solo. She’s become a lot more patient, and concentrates better when she runs. She’s kept her condition well, and she’ll be back over the course and distance where she ran a good debut race, so I’d like her to produce another performance like that.” |
|
Cerbiatto (filly)
Tomokazu Takano, trainer
“She had a slight injury after her last race, but we’ve taken care of her, and she’s in good condition, showing that by moving well enough in training. She’s very strong mentally. It’s quite a tight rotation, and it won’t be easy over the mile at Tokyo, but with just the one run left this spring for her, I want to see her do her best.” |

Immigrant Song
Immigrant Song (colt)
Tetsuhide Tsuji, trainer
“I think highly of him, having run so well against Admire Zoom, already a Grade 1 winner. Even though he lost at Tokyo two starts ago, when he didn’t quite get into the flow of the race, I still think he can run well there. He’s been able to post the quickest final three-furlong times in a number of his races, so it feels like he’s able to reach top speed whenever he’s asked to do so. I hope he can bring this quality to this next race too.”
Christophe Lemaire, jockey
“He’s in good condition. Beating a Grade 1 winner last time confirms that he’s a top-level horse. With the way he runs, the long straight at Tokyo suits him, and I think he has a chance.” |

Lance of Chaos
Lance of Chaos (colt)
Yutaka Okumura, trainer
“I don’t think he’s needed such a strong workload this time, and we’ve been careful to make sure that’s the case, bearing in mind that the weather is getting warmer. There’s no damage from his last race, in which he did well, and the time between races has been good to prepare him for this next one. He’s had success in his races, and he hasn’t really had to overcome any difficulties in doing so. He’s been able to start well, regardless of the gates he’s drawn, and I don’t worry about him finding a good rhythm in a race. A mile should suit him, although we won’t know about racing left-handed until we try. It’ll also be his first time to have to transport over to Tokyo, so I hope this will go smoothly.”
Seinosuke Yoshimura, jockey
“There have been no problems with him, and he’s stretched out well in training, without being too keen. He’s in good shape, and he has a lot of ability, so I have confidence in him.” |

Ma Puce
Ma Puce (filly)
Masanari Tanaka, assistant trainer
“It’s been important to have made sure she’s recovered from her last race, but she seems fine. She did some light work recently, but moved well, and the jockey (Hironobu Tanabe) reported that she seemed to be in good shape. Her current weight is 490kg, and she’s kept her condition. She’s had good results at Tokyo, so I hope she can run well again.”
Hironobu Tanabe, jockey
“She’s been at the stable in this short time between races. She’s kept her condition well since the Oka Sho, and hasn’t needed to do so much. The mile at Tokyo is the best for her.” |

Magic Sands
Magic Sands (colt)
Naosuke Sugai, trainer
“He’s moved well in training with the jockey (Yutaka Take), and finished off his work in just about 11 seconds. On his dam’s side, a mile looks to be a good distance for him. I’m hoping the pace will be strong, as that should help him run a good race.”
Yutaka Take, jockey
“When I first rode him, he felt like a good horse. It hasn’t been long since the Satsuki Sho, but he’s moving well. I think a mile should be good for him.” |
|
Meiner Ticket
Meiner Ticket (colt)
Toru Miya, trainer
“He had a break at the farm after the Shinzan Kinen. Since returning to the stable, he’s been working well. and with some strong work, he gets switched on and becomes sharper. He’s shown his ability this last week on the training track. The opponents will be tough in this next race, but if it’s a decent pace, he should be able to find a good rhythm. He won’t be one of the favorites, but I want him to put in a good run.” |
|
Mini Transat
Mini Transat (colt)
Yoshiaki Sugiyama, trainer
“He’s refreshed after being at the farm. On his return, the training track was a little heavy, so he did lean a bit in his recent work, but he should improve as the race approaches. Just this last week, he’s been running with a good rhythm, and looks better in his coat. At the time of the Keisei Hai, he had to transport over to Nakayama, but it wasn’t an issue. On his breeding, racing left-handed shouldn’t be a problem either. The opponents will be strong this time, but if he gets to run his own race with a good rhythm, I’m interested to see what he can do.” |
|
Mondo dell’Amore
Mondo dell’Amore (colt)
Naoto Chiba, trainer
“He wants to get on with things in his work, but he has been running smoothly, and seems to be a good match for the jockey (Keita Tosaki), who rides well at Tokyo. The rider also thinks a mile is good for him. The horse knows when to switch on and off. He won on his debut racing left-handed, so there’s no problem with that. I’m looking forward to his run here, with everything looking good for him.”
Keita Tosaki, jockey
“He’s a powerful horse and knows what to do. He feels better than how I imagined him to be.” |
|
Panja Tower
Panja Tower (colt)
Shinsuke Hashiguchi, trainer
“He’s in very good condition, and he’s been moving well in training, with everything going as expected. He had to do it tough racing right-handed two starts ago in the Asahi Hai Futurity Stakes, drawing a wide gate and having to race on the outside. His best distance might be 1,400 meters, but we’ve been thinking about the extra distance when getting him ready this time. He’s a horse with ability, so I hope he’ll do well at this distance.” |
|
Satono Carnaval
Satono Carnaval (colt)
Noriyuki Hori, trainer
“He’s better all round than he was for his last race, including his balance, and we’ve upped the pace of his work. He recently weighed 524kg. His appetite’s good and he’s very healthy. We haven’t pushed him too much as the race gets closer, but he’s been running smoothly and changing leads well, with his race jockey, Damian Lane. The horse’s breathing’s fine, and I’m happy with his preparation.” |
|
Shonan Xanadu
Shonan Xanadu (filly)
Takeshi Matsushita, trainer
“She’s been at the stable since her last race, and she’s been doing fast work on the uphill, so her condition is good. As the race nears, we haven’t overdone it with her. Her weight is about the same, and even if it’s a little more, it won’t be a problem, as she’ll have to transport over to the Tokyo track, so one of the keys will be how she handles this, as well as keeping her relaxed right up to the race. She shouldn’t pull in the race itself. She’ll be up against the colts in a field of good horses, but I like to think she can put in a good run.” |
|
Tiratore
Tiratore (filly)
Koji Maki, trainer
“She came out of her last race well, and she’s been her usual self. She’s had her usual training routine, with exercise in the pool. She’s up against a strong field of horses in this race, but she should come on for her last race, and the shorter distance of a mile should be better for her. It’ll be interesting to see what she can do with the condition she’s in.” |
|
Total Clarity
Total Clarity (colt)
Manabu Ikezoe, trainer
“We’ve put blinkers on him in training and had the jockey (Yuichi Kitamura) ride him. The horse hasn’t pulled, and he’s moved well in the last three furlongs of his work. He’s been relaxed in training most recently. On the day of the race, he’ll wear blinkers right up until the start, and hopefully this will make him run better. He hasn’t shown his best in his last two races, and this time we won’t worry about him getting a particular position in the run, but just hope that things go smoothly for him in the early part of the race. I want to see him return to his best.” |
|
Voulezvous
Voulezvous (filly)
Koshiro Take, trainer
“She hasn’t needed to do a lot in training, and we’ve been careful with her after the Oka Sho, but everything seems fine, and there’s no change with her since that last race. She ran well last time, despite it being a tough race. Hopefully she’ll run a good race up against the colts this time.”
Suguru Hamanaka, jockey
“She’s better for her last race. She seems more relaxed, and is easy to control.” |
|
Yankee Barows
Yankee Barows (colt)
Hiroyuki Uemura, trainer
“He’s had a break at the farm, with this as his next race target. He’s been moving well enough in recent training. This last week, we’ve just worked on his finish. He has more muscle now, but mentally he needs more time. There’s quite a tough side to him, as he showed in the Falcon Stakes, and being by Epiphaneia, his character is a little difficult. If he can save things during the run over the mile this time, it would be good. The key will be how he handles the way the race is run.” |
