The following horse entered in the 40th February Stakes arrived in Japan and was transported to the international stables at Tokyo Racecourse today.

SHIRL’S SPEIGHT (USA, H6, bay)

“He traveled very well. The horse was settled on the plane—ate and drank everything we offered. It was a long couple of days and he’s tired but is in good form and has settled in nicely. The stables here are gorgeous, everything is clean and organized and everybody has been wonderful.
We intend to keep him on the same schedule as we do at home. Tomorrow morning, I will assess his mood and demeanor and temperature, see how he ate and call our trainer and see if he wants me to just take him for a big walk or get on him and ride him out. With the forecast of snow, I’m hoping to let him walk and jog, stretch his legs a bit if that’s what the boss wants, at around seven maybe.”
