Going: Sloppy (dirt course)

SHIRL’S SPEIGHT (USA, H6, bay)

- jogged 3/4 lap right-handed, cantered 1 lap left-handed, walked 1/4 lap right-handed (dirt course)
(exercised from 6:12 AM to 6:30 AM, ridden by Allyson Hartfield)

“He’s happy, he’s eating well and he’s pretty close to a hundred percent (after the long journey).
I’ve spoken with the trainer and the only variable we have right now is whether he likes the dirt or not. The dirt was deeper and heavier than I expected but I think it will be much different on race day when it dries out, but he handled it well this morning.

Regarding any kind of strong work this week, it will depend on how much he does out of the gate tomorrow and how he recovers from that. We’ll take it day by day.

Besides the gate test, his work tomorrow will probably be similar to today’s.”
