MUGEN
MUGEN

- jogged 1/4 lap, cantered 1 lap right-handed and walked 1/4 lap left-handed on outer turf course
(exercised from 8:31 AM to 8:41 AM, ridden by Karis Teetan)

“We decided to bring him at the end of the season—he won a group-three race and did well in a group-one race earlier. As we have done previously, we brought our horse to Japan because I’ve always wanted to run my horses abroad and one of the chances was this race.

I watched the video of his strong work yesterday and he seems really fit, he’s happy, he switched on the uphill, and he’s quite ready for the race. We took a long walk on the track. We know that it will start to rain soon, but the horse has experience on wet tracks especially in the group-one race last season in April, so I wouldn’t be worried about that.

He always has a strong finish and enjoys the race even when the pace is fast. Regarding his draw (gate no.9), he’s in the middle of the field so I’m not worried about it. Satono Reve, Mad Cool, Victor The Winner and Mama Cocha are the ones to check out.”

“He felt really good this morning, well prepared, and I’m looking forward to riding him in the race the day after tomorrow.

I think gate no.9 is fine, he’s a horse that doesn’t want to be on the speed right from the beginning, he likes to be left alone. I believe the other Hong Kong horse and a few good horses are drawn on the outside so it will make things a bit interesting.

Regarding the competition we are up against, I saw Damian Lane riding Satono Reve when he won in August, so I have my eye on him.”

VICTOR THE WINNER (AUS)

VICTOR THE WINNER

- jogged 1/4 lap and cantered 1-3/4 laps right-handed on dirt course
(exercised from 8:32 AM to 8:40 AM, ridden by Pui Chau Man)

“He did the same exercise as yesterday and we’re happy that his form is improving.

I haven’t spoken with the trainer about the draw (no.14) yet. I don’t think it’s a very good draw but since I’m not sure whether the race will turn out to be favorable for the front runners or the strong finishers, but I know that we can leave it up to our jockey, Joao Moreira.

Tomorrow’s workout will be, more or less the same as today.”

“The draw (no.14) is obviously a wide draw but it isn’t that bad. He has good jumping speed so I hope he can break well and be positioned in the leading group.”
