1. Pre-Travel Veterinary History Declaration
Upon the JRA's request, Connections may be required to submit the Horse’s veterinary history—including diagnostic imaging and data—to assess its suitability for racing in Japan.
2. Pre-Race Veterinary Inspection (All Runners)
Veterinary assessments for suitability to race are conducted by JRA Veterinarians prior to the Declaration to Run.
The veterinary assessment includes, but is not limited to, the following:
a. Visual Inspection
b. Physical Examination
c. Cardiac Auscultation
d. Lameness Examination
e. Palpation of the Musculoskeletal System
Should a Veterinary Officer issue instructions regarding measures to be taken for the Horse based on these assessment results, Trainers must comply with such instructions.
